A little story about Testing...

Today I’m gonna narrate a little story…not my usual kind of post I know. But at least let me try my luck as a story teller. Once upon a time (imagine me to be an old bear or a hermit or anything telling you the story) there was company named Vigilant Technology Solutions (we will refer to it as VTS). It had its recruitment drive going on and it picked up a few lads it thought to be intelligent.  It had a training program designed for them so it admitted them to the training program. Thus started the journey of the 33 odd people who never knew each other before and now were about to become friends (somewhat). Their first meeting was at Room 13 in Vigilant Academy (that’s what they call their training wing). Everyone had a strange look upon their face, curiosity, fear, skepticism all mixed into one common emotion.  Slowly they started making friends with each other, stated expanding their branches and soon 7 khoon Maaf,n0tti,Achilles,Icegal and two oth

Precogs...and Us...a band that rocked wings

I know this post comes a bit late but better late than never. So first off an introduction...what is Pre-cogs? Pre-cogs is a band that originated from the Cognizant Academy Kolkata. The idea of the band was first drafted after the announcement of Wings, the cultural in-house talent showcase of Cognizant. The 30th dec joiners’ of our first combined batch mainly Samrat,Shalini,Sandipto and Siddharth first came up with the idea of the band. Along with Rajesh and Dinantika being their support. The first hurdle for them was to find a good bassist and drummer. Though Sandy is an all-rounder it wasn't the solution because he'll be in the guitar. This was solved by our next batch of joiners’. Turjo became the drummer and Tanmoy became the bassist. And thus Pre-cogs was born. These people fought hard to keep this band together, utilizing as much time as they can squeeze between their academy sessions and sometimes sacrificing CS for it :P (Listening n0tti and 7khoon maaf?) Kolkata Bloggers Meet 2011

Yesterday marked the last day of Infocom 11 in Kolkata. It was quite a nice experience this time being there with Bibhas,Kuntal and the most fun part was the Kolkata Bloggers meet yesterday. Anyway…the event was scheduled to start at 5:30 but finally it started at 6. It was a nice crowd…not too many people…but enough to fill the seats. We had to register ourselves for the event and they asked for our blog links too (that’s why I’m hoping this post of mine will find some audience at-least). First the inauguration speech was by the greatbong (Arnab Roy) with his usual sense of humor and brilliant lecture. He mentioned how people like to think ยต-blogging (twitter) is killing the old style blogging and why he doesn’t think likewise. Overall it was an interesting speech. Next one by one we heard talks about how media is following this social media burst, how they are trying to cope with the twitter and its direct news integration. We were exposed to persons having experience in

Wikipedia Kolkata Meetup

The last saturday I happened to attend the Wikipedia kolkata meet-up. I've been contributing (in whatever small articles I can) to Wikipedia for a long time and gaining from it from a much longer time :P But this is the first time I got to attend such a meet-up. Wikipedia/Wiki-media Kolkata 3rd meet up was held on Saturday 12th February, 2011 at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Kolkata. It was a get-together of wikipedians /wikimedians (contributors and users) by meeting up, discussing, sharing experiences, reaching out and advocacy for Wikipedia and wiki-media. The event started by a introductory lecture by Mr. Jayanta Nath along with a very very interesting presentation (I must see the person who came up with THAT presentation idea). After that we were addressed by Ms. Rimi B Chatterjee(See the pic, and you can see my back too :P). Though I don't exactly subscribe to all of her points it was an interesting talk nevertheless. Then came Mr. Sumit Ray. And I
